Personal Profile
Hand–crafting fine furniture demands a thorough understanding of wood, design flair and best technique coupled with uncompromising attention to detail; meeting and exceeding expectations also requires an ability to listen, to interpret, to inform and to communicate clearly. I am fully committed to a continual process of developing and drawing on all these skills with the aim of delivering excellence to my customers.
Extensive training in furniture design and craftsmanship has included time at the John Lloyd Workshop in Sussex, the Barnsley Workshop in Hampshire and with Williams and Cleal in Somerset , all internationally renowned for best teaching practice
and world class furniture. Ongoing professional development is key to continued success and I routinely
undertake specialist courses in niche techniques and participate in trade fairs and exhibitions.
My fully equipped workshop is in a rural setting and conducive to creative design and to achieving
outstanding results. It is a delight to unlock the natural beauty of wood, harmonising form and
function to give practical solutions that are a joy to live with.
As a Chartered Environmentalist, I am keen to minimise any harmful impacts arising from
my work. All native hardwoods used are from managed estates in the South of England and
approved for felling by the Forestry Commission; all imported hardwoods used are verified
by the Forestry Stewardship Council as being from a sustainable source.
